Climate Change: The Crisis of our time by mad58 | Apr 16, 2022 | Uncategorized “People hate to think about bad things happening, so they underestimate their likelihood.” what would you do if you know life might go extinct before 2070? you would probably not believe, yet it is actually very very true. According to many experts, if no serious action is taken, life in 2050 might be unbearable, and life beyond that wont be possible. That is just 28 years away, by the way. So if humans plan to keep things the way they are, you might as well spend all your savings, since there wont be any future to spend them in. Humans, with their everyday behaviours from driving their cars, lighting up their houses, throwing away their wastes and garbage and other several normal tasks they do, they are directly contributing to the death of earth. Earth is continuously heating up due to the excess release of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and other air polluting gases spread in its atmosphere, reaching to an extra 1.2C degree post industrial times and the number is yet to reach 1.5C just by 2030. If that number reaches 3C by 2050, which it probably will if things are kept the same with politicians and decision makers staying dormant with empty promises, life under this condition might not be an option for the greater part of earth. A greenhouse is a structure built to house plants that require certain climatic conditions, through the greenhouse preserve warmth through entrapping sunlight’s heat in its walls. Carbon dioxide and methane have the same affect on earth’s atmosphere, preventing sun’s heat to leave the atmosphere and thus warming it more than what’s needed and that’s the reason these gases are called greenhouse gases. The continuous fossil fuel burning and deforestation eventually leads to the increase of these cases in earth’s atmosphere. The numbers below demonstrates what is actually happening and the current affects: This map demonstrates the increase in density of air pollution going forward in years and ensuring the presence of the leading causes of climate change. These visuals also show the constant rise in the greenhouse gases in all parts of the world. People usually refer to climate change as a future issue to handle, yet the effects are current and present and the following figures show the increase of natural disasters significantly, a clear and evident cause that climate change has already started taking action. to view the Visuals clearly https://public.tableau.com/views/325movie22/Sheet2?:language=en-GB&publish=yes&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link So, its now or never, we either get accumulate our efforts into combating and reversing climate change or we live to only see the avoidable mess we created. There are several actions anyone could do to mitigate climate change and the small actions might seem too small to matter, yet they are highly effective, of which are: 1.Raise awareness and raise voices for political action 2.Turn off lights when you you’re not using it to conserve energy and burn less fuel 3.Cut down on meat and dairy food, cutting down on your meat intake by 25% can reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by 1%. 4.Try as much as possible to decrease car, motorcycle or any vehicle of fuel dependant usage. 5.Preserve green spaces and make sure to keep them clean. 6.Recycle, reuse and cut on waste consumption, in other words, reduce your garbage especially plastic. 7.Plant trees. 8.Pump up your tires in order to make gas usage as efficient as possible. 9.Many more… Tag Cloud#Africa #SDG #UN #United_Nations #UN beirut COVID-19 dashboard death economy education education for all electricity gdp health healthcare interactive lebanon SDG SDG1 SDG1.1 SDG2 SDG3 SDG3.4 SDG3.4.2 SDG4 SDG4.1 SDG5 SDG5.2 SDG5.3 SDG5.5 SDG6 SDG7 SDG8 SDG8.1 SDG10 SDG13 statistics suicide sustainability sustainable development goals tableau unemployment visuals WDI Women Violence world development indicators Recent Posts Protected: Student Performance in Exams Diabetes: How do different clinical markers vary between diabetic, non-diabetic, and predicted diabetic patients?
