It is unfortunate and with great sorrow that we now mourn Outlook’s previous associate editor (circa 2015), Dana Kambris.

Dana was a light that shone brightly in the newsroom and around campus. She was always ready to help and mentor any student encountering problems, and she had always been an avid volunteer for several NGOs.

Dana graduated from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor in Economics before she went on to complete her Master of Financial Economics at Western University in Canada. She had worked in multiple countries post-graduation, such as Lebanon, the UK, and Canada.

She was a shoulder which any person who had the luxury of meeting her could rely on laying their head on. She had formed an environment of kindness and respect in every room she entered, especially by wielding the strong bonds in her newsroom that remains to this day.

Dana kept her illness to herself and never complained but fought and lived vigorously, brightly with hope. She had been diagnosed with brain cancer, but that did not stop her from achieving her dreams and did not get in the way of her generosity. Her benevolence and goodwill never dimmed out, regardless.

Dana will be missed deeply by all her previous colleagues and friends from Outlook’s board and staff in the year 2015. Her legacy will live on forever.
