Conventional wisdom instructs not to underestimate one’s enemy. Countless military disasters, including the US wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan, can attest to that. However, one must realise that overestimating the enemy could be just as fatal, if not outright more disastrous. This is because overestimation begets helplessness that quenches even the idea of opposition. Prudent enemies are aware of that, which is why Israel misses no opportunity to project its military prowess and technological capabilities.

This occupying force recognises that it will never be legitimate in the eyes of free Muslims, Arabs, or objective bystanders. Therefore, it seeks to impose itself as a fact of life that should be accepted. Misled by myopia and at their own peril, some readily embrace that vision by cooperating and normalising ties.

Israel, just like any enemy, gains when we think it is larger and stronger than it is. They actively work on the strategic aim of making potential opposition regard them as too powerful. They attempt to compel belief in their superiority – that they will eliminate any and all resistance.

We must not surrender by falling into that trap; they win if we do. We reject the existence of an occupying force among us. It is not an unalterable fact of life. The fact here is that Israel is not unbeatable. Most assuredly, this is not a call to underestimate the enemy, but we really should not over-inflate its power, for that would paralyse our pursuit of justice.

The Zionist entity is fragile, flawed, and riddled with weaknesses. We can prevail against it with patience and planning. Crusaders controlled the Holy Land for two centuries or so, but they were ousted, so the decades of Zionist presence are no indicator for perpetuity.

Do not rush it, and do not lose hope. Be balanced and fulfil a responsible role, knowing that what is inevitable is the triumph of justice – not occupation.
