Labor force participation

According to the international labor organization, labor force participation rate witnessed a huge gap among male and female. This gender gap has long been a widely discussed issue in different domains and countries. As a team of Master’s in Business Analytics students at AUB, we are looking to address this issue in two main ways. First, we aim to raise awareness on the importance of reducing this gender gap on countries’ economic prosperity, safety, and overall health. Through our first contribution, we are looking forward to voice out our findings to the concerned authorities who can make efforts in building a system of a lower gender gap, where it all starts with women empowerment and gender equality, until it reaches equal female and male participation in the labor force in Lebanon. The dashboard below shows the socioeconomic indicators that highlight the gender gap in the labor force participation in the world and specifically, in Lebanon, while addressing some of the potential results of adopting certain solutions
