REVIVE blood and cancer Association

 

  • Revive Blood and Cancer Association  started when a group of cancer survivors and a thalassemia patient -strong believers in the strength of faith, patience and support- who had gone through a bone marrow transplant (BMT) procedure decided to create an association in order to play a helpful role in any patient’s life who going through the same experience.

 

 

  • The association aims to provide patients with all the needed information they might need  before, during, and after the BMT procedure in order to have a clear grasp of the whole process they will be going through at the Bone Marrow Transplant Center.

 

  • The association also helps support patients going through BMT through motivation and encouragement during and after BMT. Revive provides one to one patients psychological support and education through their Bone Marrow Transplant Experience at NKBCI.

CANCER SUPPORT FUND

  • The Cancer Support Fund: is a charitable initiative at the NKBCI. To ensure patients can have equal opportunities to receive appropriate healthcare services, it offers financial, emotional and psychosocial support to financially disadvantaged adult cancer patients.

The CSF provides adult cancer patients with financial support as assessed by the AUBMC Social Services Department with no discrimination based on gender or religion.

Who the Cancer Support Fund helps:

  • The Cancer Support Fund supports patients age 18 years and above diagnosed with Brain, Lung Prostate, Colon, Skin Cancer and other Solid tumors.
  • Support includes financial assistance towards the cost of hospitalization and follow-up diagnostics for underprivileged adult cancer patients.
  • The CSF provides adult cancer patients with financial support as assessed by the AUBMC Social Services Department with no discrimination on the basis of gender or religion.
  • Patients supported by the CSF receive comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer treatment by subspecialized physicians, nurses, and psychologists offering medical care quality that aims to meet advanced standards of service excellence.

    BALSAM (The Lebanese Center for Palliative Care)

     

     

    BALSAM (The Lebanese Center for Palliative Care) is a nongovernmental organization for Palliative Care founded in 2010 registered in the Lebanese Ministry of Interior in March 2011. Balsam is an NGO that offers palliative care services to seriously ill patients to help relieve their suffering and improve their quality of life.

     

    Balsam aims to relieve suffering and improve the quality of life for people facing life-threatening illness through patient careadvocacycapacity building, and research.

     

    Balsam has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the first palliative care consultation service in 2013 at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).

     

    Balsam is committed to developing palliative care in Lebanon to ensure its integration into our healthcare system.
