The Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and as part of the Department of Anesthesiology is the primary advocate for ambulatory surgery centers in Lebanon. The new facility plays a prominent role in allowing patient s to undergo surgical procedures and return home without the need for an overnight stay.

Ambulatory surgery, also known as outpatient or same-day surgery, is a new multispecialty unit that covers a wide range of surgeries (limited urologic, ophthalmologic, or ear, nose, and throat procedures, etc.) while reducing the amount of time a patient needs to stay in the medical center. It also enhances recovery and improves surgical outcome, thus enabling patients to resume their day to day life within a very short period of time.

As part of the Daniel ACC, the Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art unit that utilizes some of the most advanced medical equipment available. We strive to provide compassionate, personalized, and quality focused care to all our patients. Our office staff, nurses, and doctors are dedicated to our patients.

Our mission encompasses creating a new model for surgical patients that allows them to have their procedures and be discharged on the same day .This model will involve selection of patients and procedures, streamlining preoperative assessment, convenient scheduling and preemptive treatment of postoperative complications as well as a close follow up after discharge.

Our vision is to lead the evolution of healthcare and raise the bars of surgery centers through creating a new approach for patients by providing exceptional outpatient surgical services with primary focus on service excellence, quality and safety.

Located on the 9th floor in the new Daniel ACC building, the ASC includes three operating rooms that streamline operations without significant delays and provides ophthalmic and ENT surgery. It serves as a one stop shop for all administrative and medical requirements. At ASC, surgeons evaluate the case complexity and an anesthesiologist assesses the medical status.

Patients are welcomed to visit us at the 9th floor of Halim and Aida Daniel Academic and Clinical Center (Daniel ACC).
