Dr. Dany Abou Jaoude
Assistant Professor-Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Dany Abou Jaoude holds a Ph.D. in Eurospace from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Dr. Abou Jaoude’s research applies mathematical tools from robust control theory to analyze and certify complex engineering systems. He is particularly interested in structure-preserving model reduction, distributed control, and the analysis of networked dynamical systems. His work also encompasses the design and analysis of distributed optimization algorithms and the control of wind turbines.
Prof. Salma Talhouk
Professor-Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management
Prof. Salma Talhouk holds a Ph.D. from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science from the American University of Beirut (AUB). She is dedicated to advancing nature conservation by fostering meaningful connections between people and the natural world. Her academic interests include exploring nature-based solutions, people-centered greening technologies, and nature’s healing potential. Her research focuses on community stewardship of natural resources, integrating technology with nature conservation, cultural ecosystem services, and nature therapy.
Dr. Ibrahim Issa
Assistant Professor-Electrical and Computer Engineering
Dr. Ibrahim Issa holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer & Communications from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Dr. Issa’s thesis on “information leakage” received the Outstanding ECE PhD Thesis Research Award. Following his doctoral studies, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Laboratory for Information in Networked Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne from August 2017 to December 2018. His research interests span privacy and security, information theory, machine learning, and quantum information theory.

Christina Algemayel
Christina Algemayel is a skilled Chemical Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and Computational Chemistry from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Her expertise spans advanced programming languages and tools including Python, TensorFlow, MATLAB, and SQL, as well as lab techniques such as gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Rashed Abou Ali
Rashed Abou Ali holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics Engineering from Rafic Hariri University (2023). He is engaged in drone-based projects. His work involves understanding and integrating the intricate components and equations of motion that drive the cutting-edge technology behind drones, applying it to various innovative applications.
Carine Ghassibe
Carine Ghassibe holds a diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (2021) and a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences with a major in Ecosystem Management from the American University of Beirut (AUB), graduated in 2024. Her areas of expertise include Agriculture, Urban Greening, Beekeeping, and Environmental Education.
Yasmina Taki
Yasmina holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering focusing on the Forestry sector, a Bachelor of Science in Life and Earth Sciences, and two Master of Science degrees in Applied Plant Biotechnology and Applied Animal Biology. Yasmina has gained valuable experience through internships in various fields, including a Forestry internship at the American University of Beirut Nature Conservation Center (AUBNCC), as well as roles at the Lebanese Agriculture Research Institute (LARI) and the Environmental Health Research Lab, among others.
