On March 28, 2024, the SLB team visited the Shouf Biosphere Reserve (SBR) to engage with their visionary conservation efforts.
The SLB team introduced three innovative projects specifically designed to address challenges faced by SBR:
- Mitigating the Taxonomic Impediment with Machine Learning and Citizen Science: aiming to streamline plant identification and documentation.
- Leveraging Deep Learning for Hyperspectral Data Reconstruction: reconstructs plant hyperspectral data from RGB images across the 400-1000m range.
- Distributing Seed Bombs Using Drones: exploring the potential for reforestation and site restoration within the reserve.
