Why gamify 

Experiential tourism is a novel approach to tourism. It focuses on providing opportunities for visitors to truly experience the tourism site they are visiting. A chance to actively immerse in the sights and scenes of the place and to engage with its history and culture rather than just passively observe it.

Gamification can help create this engagement in tourism experiences. A well-designed, site-specific gamified experience, using digital, analog or combined “phygital” interactions, can deliver an overload of sensory and emotional connections with the visited place. It can create those memorable experiences which a visitor will retain and share long after returning home.
