Nazem Bassil, MD

Dr. Nazem Bassil is an Associate Professor of internal medicine, specialized in geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry, and palliative care. Improving health care delivery to older adults with comorbidities, namely neurocognitive and psychiatric comorbidities, has been a major focus of my clinical and academic career. At the American University of Beirut Medical Center, I provide specialty care in geriatrics in the in-patient and out-patient settings and I am part of the Palliative Care Team at AUBMC. My main research interests focus on integrating interdisciplinary research to improve our understanding and management of Alzheimer’s disease, delirium, and mental health problems in older adults.
