Short Biography
Dr. Arij Daou is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at AUB. He obtained his BSc degree in Computer Science from AUB. He then moved to Florida University and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Mathematics. Afterwards, he moved to the University of Chicago, and got his second PhD in Neuroscience where he continued after it as a post-doctoral researcher. His lab at AUB is focused on exploring neural sequence generation in the brain and the temporal precision that neurons in specific regions of the brain exhibit during complex motor behaviors, as well as understanding the neurophysiological underpinnings of learning and memory at the levels of synaptic and intrinsic plasticity.
