Short Biography
Ceren Acartürk is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Koc University. She received her doctoral degree from Vrije University Amsterdam in 2009 and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Amsterdam University. Dr. Acartürk is an expert in the global mental health field. Her research has focused on psychological effects of potentially traumatic events, common mental health disorders of forcibly displaced people, and the investigation of the effectiveness of scalable psychological interventions. Acartürk was the country PI of 2 European Commission funded projects where they investigated the effectiveness of WHO developed scalable interventions called Problems Management Plus and Self Help Plus. Currently her research mainly focuses on implementation of scalable evidence based psychological interventions for distressed survivors of the recent earthquakes in Türkiye.
