The Darwazah Startup Accelerate, and Hackathons, at the core, are extra-curricular activities that are aimed at students. In the DSA, students are engaged in a series of boot camp venture building activities lasting about two to three months. In hackathons, a similar but more intensive process is conducted over a 3-day weekend.  The students walk through an agile Lean Startup methodology focusing on problem-solution fit based on refining the value propositions, customer segments, and channel design. They then focus on building a revenue and cost model of the venture. They also get trained in the craft of pitching their idea so it can be better understood by the jury. The Darwazah Center is proud to have been involved in 9 cohorts of DSA since 2014, plus a Data for Good Hackathon in 2021 (involving the Master of Science in Business Analytics program of the American University of Beirut) and a Cryptocurrency Hackathon for Lebanon in 2022 with the funding from Avalanche, NYM Technologies and L1Digital to boost the entrepreneurial skills of the Lebanese youth.
