Dear readers,
In the midst of fighting for a better future, surviving a pandemic and coping with the distress of the 4th of August explosion, MSFEA students across all majors attempted to channel their energy into a productive and positive mindset. Whether it was learning how to do a Tiktok, starting to exercise, pursuing a startup idea, or participating in a competition, we have all tried new things this year; things we have never thought of trying and that have reshaped at least one aspect of our outlook on life. While this year will be remembered for being difficult, it has most definitely reminded us to take a break every once in a while and focus on what makes us well rounded people.
I am honored to present to you our second issue of Cogs and Caffeine. Similar to this year’s events, working on this issue has been a challenging experience for all the editors, writers and team members. Yet, this issue cherishes a vibrant and critically engaged student voice.
The featured stories and initiatives are just a representative sample of the level of enthusiasm, proactiveness and drive of MSFEA students. We hope that this issue will inspire all its readers –from high school students, MSFEA students to MSFEA alumni- to take part in promising projects and to make a change within their community.
This year, we have added two sections to the magazine: Technology Reviews and Women in Engineering. The goal of this expansion is to cover more inclusively the interests and advocacies of MSFEA students.
I would like to thank all the members, writers and editors for their hard work and dedication. Particularly, I would like to acknowledge Mrs. Mia Azar for her constant support and guidance throughout the process.
On a final note, I would like to thank you, the reader, for trusting us in representing your voice. Also, if you are interested in joining Cogs and Caffeine team, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on our email.
Always remember, Cogs and Caffeine belongs to you!
To many more issues to come.
