About Us

The MSFEA Women in Engineering Mentorship Program is a new program that provides female undergraduate students full access to mentoring in academic planning and personal development in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering. And as of next year, it will be open to the next generation of all newly enrolled female engineering students at MSFEA.

Mentorship is one of the foundations of the rightful way to professional and personal success. This is why the mission of the Mentorship Program is to unearth the excellence of young females, empower them to take on leading roles, and realize their full potential in engineering and beyond. By providing opportunities for self-reflection and early professional preparation, the program is a first step to bridging the gender gap in the engineering fields at AUB. It aims at helping female students strengthen their confidence and find their voice.

Within this program, full scholarships and grants are offered to female applicants by the aforementioned AUB departments in MSFEA. Mentees will be matched with potential student mentors and will receive the assistance and support they need for their positive development throughout their academic years. The program will be a mix of peer-to-peer sessions to answer questions, and other group sessions coordinated by the committee.

The Mentorship Program not only provides students with academic support, but also allows them to receive tips in different disciplines (applying to internships, conducting research while at AUB, etc.). It will also give them the opportunity to engage in other activities such as participating in workshops and discussion panels, joining clubs and doing volunteer work, all while balancing with their coursework.

So, if you’re curious to explore new horizons, AUB has got you covered! We hope that you gain the maximum benefit from the experience and make the best out of it. Please feel free to check out the scholarship opportunities on the MSFEA website, and reach out to the mentor volunteers through their contact information below:
