The AUB Press and Jafet Library are thrilled to host a special WikiWednesday event during Palestine Solidarity Week on March 6th, from 12 pm to 3 pm.
But what exactly is a Wikipedia edit-a-thon? It’s a collaborative event where participants come together to edit and create Wikipedia articles on a specific theme—in this case, Palestine. Our aim is to foster knowledge generation about the region, by the region. While walk-ins are welcome throughout the event, please note that there’s a limited number of computers available. Feel free to bring your own laptops!
Registration: Upon registration, attendees will receive instructions on setting up their Wikipedia accounts and access to online how-to modules, especially helpful for first-time editors. Fear not if you’re new to Wikipedia editing; we have experienced editors on hand to assist and structure your work.
At the conclusion of the event, we invite all participants to submit the articles they’ve edited, along with their Wikipedia handles, for acknowledgment on our site. Let’s collaborate, create, and contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of Palestine’s rich history and culture! See you there!
