Overview
The 12th Beirut Annual Breast Cancer Conference, Nursing Symposium, tackles several areas pertinent to nurses, and other healthcare professionals, working with patients with breast cancer. This educational activity offers a summary of the different types of breast cancer, as well as a summary of the recommendations for treatments lines, along with rationale of the decision-making process during treatment selection. In addition, the symposium will cover an update on endocrine therapies and will include an interactive learning session on nausea and vomiting management. Furthermore, we will be tackling the psychological distress faced by nurses working with this patient population. (view full program here)

The program will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Halim and Aida Daniel Academic and Clinical Center (ACC) Multipurpose Room 3 at AUBMC and online via WebEx.
Target Audience
Adult Oncology Registered Nurses and other nursing professionals interested to attend.
Learning Outcome
The Nursing Symposium aims to enhance the knowledge of its attendees with regards to the different types of breast cancer, as well as the decision support process in selecting lines of treatment. In addition, the attendees will have increased knowledge related to endocrine therapies, as well as the management of nausea and vomiting. Finally, the attendees will develop a broader understanding of how to deal with psychological distress encountered during these difficult times. Their knowledge acquisition shall be self-reported by completing a survey using a 4-point Likert scale.
