Mazen Al-Ghoul’s Page

I joined the Department of Chemistry at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in October 1998. I am currently Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Department.

In November 2010, I was appointed Director of the Graduate Program in Computational Science at AUB.

I am a physical chemist and our research group is involved in the study of the theoretical and experimental aspects of self-organizing systems far from equilibrium as well as using reaction-diffusion systems to make new material for applications in catalysis and adsorption.

In 2010, I coauthored a book on chemical thermodynamics with my mentor Prof. Byung Chan Eu (McGill University) and we are in the process of preparing the second edition.
