The general assembly’s main objective is to evaluate the project’s progress over its first two years, address gaps and existing delays in work packages and propose solutions to any possible risks.

In a significant milestone, Dr. Hadi Jaafar held the 2nd General Assembly TALANOA-WATER Prima-funded project at the esteemed University of Salamanca, Spain, the oldest university in the Hispanic world.

This assembly marked the completion of the first phase of the project, which extends over a span of four years. The assembly, held from 31st May to 1st June 2023, brought together the Project Steering Committee and the coordination unit at USAL to advance transformational adaptation, action, and dialogue in the face of climate change.

TALANOA-WATER is a 4-year project, coordinated by the University of Salamanca, Spain, that brings together an international scientific consortium of 7 partners from 6 countries: Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, France, and Spain. TALANOA-WATER is funded by Horizon 2020 European Union Funding for Research & lnnovation, and Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA Foundation).

The agenda of the assembly encompassed various crucial aspects including a comprehensive review of the project’s progress, as reflected in the draft of the second progress report, examination of project deliverables, and a collective assessment of gaps. Contingency planning was discussed to address any delays identified during the assessment. A significant portion of the second day was dedicated to an engaging discussion on stakeholder engagement through serious gaming.
